About Me
A bit about me, where to start, well, I've always loved making, drawing ,painting, carving ,building, gluing, sewing....anything that would enable me to get what's inside my head ,outside.
I loved making characters come to life in front of me and the happiness of letting other people experience what previously only I could imagine in my mind's eye. Sadly, I never did make it to college or uni to study art or design, where I'm sure I would have enjoyed mucking around with all those materials and equipment, instead I followed my other passion, animals!
After a childhood spent in the woods, fields and friend's farms, my life was filled with domestic, farm and wild animals. This was the 80s and we were free to immerse ourselves fully in whatever interesting things we could find, my brain soaked everything up and stored hundreds and thousands of smashing memories.
Then there were the characters within my family and friends, all lovely folk but none of them were, well, 'normal'. They were funny and dry witted, kind and dependable and at times, totally crackers. Again they were responsible for all the techni colour memories that I squirrelled away.
All those memories, my glorious, precious memories are stacked in huge, muddled heaps in my brain. My art, I've come to realise is a way for me to order and keep them within reach, a way of making them physically permanent. So should you buy a piece of my work you're helping to save a little piece of my mind.
A Little Side Note.
I'm not completely without artistic recognition/qualification , I once had my drawing of a stoat featured in 'the gallery' on Tony Hart's art programme Hartbeat and I won a Blue Peter badge (runner up) for a picture of giraffe when I was about 7yrs, so I'm not a complete amateur.
